Sobre o artista
Korn é uma banda de rock americana formada em Bakersfield, Califórnia, no início dos anos 1990 por James «Munky» Shaffer, Reginald «Fieldy» Arvizu, David Silveria, Brian «Head» Welch e o vocalista Jonathan Davis, cuja interpretação sombria e emocionalmente crua deu ao som pesado e groovado da banda um caráter distintivo. Combinando influências de metal, funk e hip-hop, o grupo foi pioneiro de um som que se tornou fundamental para o movimento nu-metal do final dos anos 1990 e início dos anos 2000.
Faixas como «Freak On a Leash», «Blind», «Falling Away from Me» e «Got the Life» consolidaram o Korn como um dos atos definidores do gênero, conhecido por guitarras de sete cordas afinadas para baixo, o estilo percussivo do baixo de Fieldy e as letras confessionais de Davis sobre trauma, abuso e alienação. A disposição da banda em explorar temas pessoais desconfortáveis a diferenciou do cenário do rock agressivo da época e influenciou toda uma geração de bandas de nu-metal e metal alternativo.
Ao longo das décadas, o Korn continuou evoluindo, incorporando elementos eletrônicos em lançamentos posteriores sem perder a intensidade do trabalho inicial. Sua influência na música pesada vai muito além do nu-metal, permanecendo uma das bandas mais relevantes comercial e criticamente surgidas dessa cena.
