Foo Fighters é uma banda de rock americana formada em Seattle em 1994 por Dave Grohl, ex-baterista do Nirvana, que iniciou o projeto como um desabafo solo após a morte de Kurt Cobain, gravando quase todos os instrumentos sozinho antes de montar uma formação completa para turnês. O nome da banda faz referência a avistamentos de OVNIs relatados por pilotos durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Musicalmente, o Foo Fighters construiu sua identidade sobre um hard rock melódico e cativante, com raízes no alternativo dos anos 1990, equilibrando energia de guitarra com refrões hinônicos. Canções como «Everlong», «My Hero», «The Pretender» e «Best of You» tornaram-se básicos do rádio rock moderno, mostrando a versatilidade de Grohl entre baladas íntimas e hinos de estádio, enquanto trabalhos posteriores incorporaram maior experimentação estilística.
