Sam Smith es un cantautor inglés nacido el 19 de mayo de 1992 y criado en un pueblo en la frontera entre Hertfordshire y Cambridgeshire, cerca de Bishops Stortford. Formado en canto jazz desde la infancia, dejó la escuela a los diecisiete años para perseguir una carrera musical y pasó años de dificultades en Londres antes de que llegara su gran oportunidad con una colaboración vocal en «Latch» de Disclosure y después en «La La La» de Naughty Boy. Su álbum debut, «In the Lonely Hour», lo convirtió en una estrella global gracias a los sencillos impregnados de soul «Stay With Me» e «I'm Not the Only One».
