Abel Tesfaye, conocido como The Weeknd, es un cantante, compositor y productor canadiense de Scarborough, Ontario, nacido el 16 de febrero de 1990. Surgió de forma anónima en 2011 con una trilogía de mixtapes atmosféricos y oscuramente seductores—House of Balloons, Thursday y Echoes of Silence—luego recopilados como Trilogy, que consolidó su mezcla de R&B alternativo, producción brumosa y una lírica confesional y a menudo nihilista sobre excesos, fama y soledad.
