Sobre el artista
Fall Out Boy se formó en Wilmette, Illinois, en 2001, en torno al bajista y letrista principal Pete Wentz y el guitarrista Joe Trohman, ambos antes en la banda de metalcore Arma Angelus. Trohman reclutó al vocalista y guitarrista Patrick Stump, y más tarde se unió el baterista Andy Hurley, completando la formación clásica. Fichados por Fueled By Ramen, su álbum debut de 2003, Take This to Your Grave, ayudó a definir el pop-punk y el emo de mediados de los 2000.
Su gran salto llegó con From Under the Cork Tree (2005), impulsado por éxitos como «Sugar, We're Goin Down» y «Dance, Dance», que llevaron a la banda al público mainstream de MTV. Discos posteriores como Infinity on High y Folie à Deux, con «Thnks fr th Mmrs», ampliaron su sonido hacia una producción más pulida con influencias pop y R&B, sin perder las letras diarísticas y llenas de juegos de palabras de Wentz.
Tras un parón, la banda regresó en 2013 con Save Rock and Roll, adoptando un sonido pop-rock más grandioso pensado para estadios, como en «My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)». Los álbumes siguientes, American Beauty/American Psycho y Mania, trajeron más éxitos como «Centuries», «Uma Thurman» y «We Didn't Start the Fire».
