Sobre el artista
Radiohead se formó en Abingdon, Inglaterra, en 1985 bajo el nombre On A Friday, y pasó a llamarse Radiohead al firmar con EMI en 1991. La alineación estable de la banda siempre ha sido Thom Yorke en voz y guitarra, Jonny Greenwood en guitarra líder, Ed O'Brien en guitarra, Colin Greenwood en bajo y Philip Selway en batería. Su sencillo revelación «Creep» se convirtió en un éxito mundial inesperado a principios de los años noventa, aunque al principio la banda cargó con la etiqueta de artista de un solo éxito.
Se deshicieron de esa reputación de forma contundente con The Bends en 1995 y especialmente con OK Computer en 1997, un álbum considerado por muchos uno de los mejores de su época, que combina letras ansiosas y alienadas con un intrincado juego de guitarras. Radiohead dio entonces un giro radical con Kid A y Amnesiac, incorporando texturas electrónicas, influencias de jazz y producción glitch, alejándose de la composición rock convencional mientras mantenía el característico falsete de Yorke y la tensión atmosférica de la banda.
Conocidos por canciones como «Karma Police», «No Surprises», «Paranoid Android» y «Fake Plastic Trees», Radiohead se ganaron la reputación de reinventarse constantemente en cada álbum, negándose a repetir fórmulas pasadas. Su influencia se extiende por el rock alternativo y la música electrónica, y siguen siendo célebres tanto por su ambición sonora como por su escepticismo hacia la industria musical tradicional, destacando el lanzamiento independiente de In Rainbows bajo el sistema de pago voluntario.
