The Challenge
Jorge Rivera-HerransLetra y traducción
[PENELOPE]
[PENÉLOPE]
I'm supposed to choose a suitor to wear the crown
I said I would choose as soon as I weave this shroud
They don't know that every night
Ellos no saben que cada noche
I unthread all the work I've done
Deshago todo el trabajo que he hecho
'Cause I'd rather lie
Porque prefiero mentir
Than allow them to think they've won
Antes que dejarles pensar que han ganado
Though I never thought that I'd resort to this
Aunque nunca pensé que llegaría a esto
Just know I'll be here
Solo sabe que estaré aquí
But I don't know how much longer I'll last
Pero no sé cuánto más podré resistir
Since we saw that storm
Desde que vimos esa tormenta
And though it was so close to our kingdom
Y aunque estuvo tan cerca de nuestro reino
It was far from the norm
Estaba lejos de lo normal
[PENELOPE, spoken]
[PENÉLOPE, hablado]
Unless
A menos que
[PENELOPE]
[PENÉLOPE]
Oh, could it be some kind of sign
Oh, ¿podría ser algún tipo de señal
That my world is all about to change?
Is it finally time for the challenge I arranged?
Though I never thought that it would come to this
Aunque nunca pensé que llegaría a esto
Just know I'll be here, buying you time
Solo sabe que estaré aquí, dándote tiempo
[SUITORS]
[PRETENDIENTES]
Time is fleeting, it's running out
El tiempo vuela, se está acabando
Time to be the man of the house (Penelope)
[PENELOPE]
[PENÉLOPE]
Oh, buying you time
Oh, dándote tiempo
[SUITORS]
[PRETENDIENTES]
Time is fleeting, it's running out
El tiempo vuela, se está acabando
Time to be the man of the house
[PENELOPE]
[PENÉLOPE]
Whoever can string my husband's old bow
And shoot through twelve axes cleanly
y dispare limpio a través de doce hachas
Will be the new king, sit down at the throne
And rule with me as his queen
y reinará conmigo como su reina
Let the arrow fly
Deja volar la flecha
Once you know that your aim is true
'Cause I'd rather die
Porque prefiero morir
Than grow old without the best of you
Though I never thought
Aunque nunca pensé
That these would be the lengths we go for love
I would not have it any other way
no lo cambiaría de ninguna otra manera
And though I never thought that it would end like this
Y aunque nunca pensé que terminaría así
Just know I'll be here
Solo sabe que estaré aquí

Preguntas frecuentes
¿De qué trata "The Challenge"?
