Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell, nacida el 18 de diciembre de 2001, es una cantautora estadounidense de Los Ángeles, California. Criada en una familia de músicos y actores, fue educada en casa y comenzó a escribir canciones desde muy joven. Trabajando estrechamente con su hermano mayor Finneas O’Connell como coautor y productor, lanzó el sencillo revelación «ocean eyes» en 2015, que se hizo viral y le valió un contrato con Interscope/Darkroom.
Su álbum debut, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, lanzado en 2019, consolidó su sonido característico: voces susurradas e íntimas sobre producciones minimalistas, cargadas de graves y a menudo inquietantes, con éxitos como «bad guy» y «bury a friend». El álbum la convirtió en una de las artistas más jóvenes en encabezar el Billboard 200 y ganar categorías principales de los Grammy el mismo año, incluyendo Álbum del Año.
