Sobre el artista
Panic! at the Disco se formó en 2004 en Las Vegas, Nevada, con Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, Brent Wilson y Brendon Urie, convirtiéndose en el primer grupo firmado por el sello Decaydance de Pete Wentz. Su álbum debut de 2005, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, fusionó la energía del pop-punk con toques teatrales de cabaret y detalles electrónicos glitch, dando lugar al éxito «I Write Sins Not Tragedies», ganador del Video del Año en los MTV VMA de 2006.
La banda pasó por importantes cambios de formación a lo largo de los años, hasta quedar Brendon Urie como único miembro constante y motor creativo, con un sonido que cambió drásticamente entre discos, desde el pop barroco experimental de Pretty. Odd. hasta la extravagancia glam y dance-pop de Death of a Bachelor, que incluyó el tema homónimo y «Emperor's New Clothes».
El potente registro vocal de Urie y su gusto por el espectáculo teatral se convirtieron en el sello distintivo de la banda, impulsando éxitos posteriores como «High Hopes» y «Say Amen (Saturday Night)» hacia el terreno del pop mainstream sin abandonar la instrumentación rock.
