Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Yeah Yeah Yeahs are an American art-punk trio formed in New York City in the late 1990s, consisting of vocalist Karen O, guitarist Nick Zinner, and drummer Brian Chase. Emerging from the early-2000s New York rock revival alongside bands like The Strokes and Interpol, the group quickly stood out for Karen O's theatrical, raw stage presence and for building a full sound with just guitar and drums, no bassist, relying on Zinner's layered, effects-heavy guitar work to fill the low end.

Their 2003 debut album, «Fever to Tell», released on Interscope Records, established their template of jagged noise-rock energy paired with unexpectedly tender balladry, epitomized by their breakout single «Maps», later covered by artists as varied as The White Stripes and Anderson .Paak. Subsequent albums such as «Show Your Bones», «It's Blitz!», and «Mosquito» showed the band expanding into synth-driven dance-rock and more polished production while retaining their art-punk edge, earning them multiple Grammy nominations for Best Alternative Music Album along the way.

Beyond their studio work, Yeah Yeah Yeahs built a reputation as a formidable live act, with Karen O's charismatic, unpredictable performances becoming central to their identity. Their influence extends across indie rock and dance-punk revival scenes, and the band has continued to record and perform intermittently in the decades since their formation.
