About the artist

The Killers are an American rock band formed in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2001 by vocalist and keyboardist Brandon Flowers and guitarist Dave Keuning, later joined by bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. Their 2004 debut album, Hot Fuss, catapulted them to international fame with singles like «Mr. Brightside» and «Somebody Told Me», blending the melodic urgency of post-punk revival with the shimmering synths and glam theatrics of 1980s New Wave acts such as Duran Duran and The Cure.

Over the following two decades, the band built one of the most consistent arena-rock catalogues of its generation, with albums such as Sam's Town, Day & Age, Battle Born, and Wonderful Wonderful expanding their sound toward heartland rock and Americana while retaining their anthemic choruses. Tracks like «When You Were Young», «Human», and «The Man» became radio staples, and «Mr. Brightside» remains a fixture on singles charts years after release, an unusually long chart life for a rock song.

Brandon Flowers' distinctive tenor and the band's knack for stadium-sized hooks have made them one of the defining rock acts to emerge from the 2000s indie/post-punk revival. Their later records, including Imploding the Mirage and Pressure Machine, showed a turn toward more personal, narrative songwriting rooted in Flowers' Nevada and Utah upbringing, cementing The Killers as both hitmakers and evolving album artists.
