Wings

Wings were a British-American rock band formed in 1971 by Paul McCartney in the aftermath of the Beatles' breakup, alongside his wife Linda McCartney on keyboards and backing vocals, drummer Denny Seiwell, and guitarist Denny Laine, formerly of the Moody Blues. Despite frequent lineup changes over the decade, McCartney, his wife, and Laine remained the group's constant core until Wings disbanded in 1981.

The band produced some of the most enduring soft rock and pop of the 1970s, blending McCartney's melodic songwriting with arena-ready rock arrangements, folk-tinged ballads, and the occasional experimental detour. Albums such as Band on the Run and songs like «Live and Let Die», written for the James Bond film, and «Silly Love Songs» showcased their range, from orchestral grandeur to buoyant pop hooks.

Wings never escaped comparisons to the Beatles, but they carved out a distinct identity, scoring numerous chart-topping singles and albums across the decade. Tracks like «My Love», «Mull of Kintyre», and «Let 'Em In» remain staples of classic rock radio, cementing Wings as one of the most commercially successful bands of the post-Beatles era.
