Wheatus

Wheatus are an American rock band formed in 1995 on Long Island, New York, built around singer, guitarist and principal songwriter Brendan B. Brown. They broke through globally in 2000 with their self-titled debut album and its single «Teenage Dirtbag», an anthem of outsider adolescence that became a staple of pop-punk and alt-rock radio and later a fixture on film and TV soundtracks.

The band's sound blends power-pop hooks, guitar-driven alt-rock and playful, hip-hop-inflected vocal delivery, giving their records a loose, DIY energy distinct from the more polished pop-punk of their era. After early major-label success, Wheatus continued releasing music independently through their own imprint, maintaining a dedicated fanbase built on constant touring and direct engagement with listeners.
