Wet Leg

Wet Leg is a British duo formed in 2019 by Hester Chambers and Rhian Teasdale, who met while studying at Isle of Wight College and became friends years before starting the band together. Based on the Isle of Wight, the pair signed to independent label Domino Recording Company and quickly gained attention with their debut single «Chaise Longue», whose deadpan wit and viral appeal helped it rack up millions of streams.

Their sound mixes jangly post-punk and indie rock guitars with dry, sardonic lyrics and a playful, detached vocal delivery, drawing comparisons to bands in the art-punk and new wave lineage while retaining a distinctly contemporary, internet-savvy sense of humor. Follow-up single «Wet Dream» reinforced this style and further boosted the band’s profile ahead of their debut record.

Wet Leg’s self-titled debut album, released on April 8, 2022, was met with strong critical acclaim and fan enthusiasm, cementing the duo as one of the notable breakout acts in British guitar music of the early 2020s, with later songs such as «Too Late Now» and «catch these fists» continuing to develop their sardonic, riff-driven approach.
