wave to earth

wave to earth are a South Korean indie/surf-rock trio formed around 2019, led by vocalist and songwriter Daniel Kim alongside drummer Dong Q and bassist John Cha. Their sound is defined by a mellow, jazz-tinged warmth, laid-back rhythms and Kim's breathy, emotive vocals, often compared to a dreamy update on surf and bedroom-pop influences filtered through Korean indie sensibilities.

The band debuted with the single «wave» in 2019 and gained wider attention through their early EPs, «wave 0.01» and «summer flows 0.02», which introduced fan favorites such as «light» and «seasons». Their music spread significantly through streaming and social platforms, building an international audience well beyond Korea's domestic indie scene, before they eventually signed with the label Wavy, founded by artist Colde.

In 2023 the group released their debut full-length album, «0.1 flaws», expanding on their earlier EP sound while retaining the intimate, nostalgic mood that has defined their catalog. With songs like «bad», «annie.» and «peach eyes», wave to earth have become one of the more distinctive voices in the current wave of Korean indie and R&B-inflected rock reaching listeners worldwide.
