Two Door Cinema Club

Two Door Cinema Club are a Northern Irish indie rock band from Bangor and Donaghadee, County Down, formed in 2007. The trio consists of Sam Halliday on lead guitar and backing vocals, Alex Trimble on vocals, rhythm guitar, beats and synths, and Kevin Baird on bass and backing vocals.

The band's debut album, «Tourist History», was released in March 2010 on the French independent label Kitsuné Music, and later that year in the United States through Glassnote Records. The record helped define the band's sound — tightly constructed, hook-driven indie pop-rock built on jangly guitars, propulsive basslines and a strong dance-pop pulse — and earned a nomination for the Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of the Year. Its follow-up, «Beacon», released in 2012, pushed the sound toward a more polished, synth-forward pop direction and debuted at number one on the Irish Albums Chart.

Two Door Cinema Club became one of the defining bands of the early-2010s indie-pop wave that blurred lines between guitar music and dance-floor energy, building a global festival following on the strength of tightly crafted singles and an energetic live show. Their sound — bright, rhythmic, melodically economical — influenced a generation of indie acts working at the intersection of rock instrumentation and electronic production.
