Three Days Grace

Three Days Grace is a Canadian rock band formed in Norwood, Ontario, and now based in Toronto. The band grew out of an earlier high-school group called Groundswell before reforming in the late 1990s as Three Days Grace with Adam Gontier on vocals, Neil Sanderson on drums, and Brad Walst on bass, later joined by lead guitarist Barry Stock. Their sound is built on a hard-edged, post-grunge alternative metal foundation, marked by heavy riffs, dynamic shifts between brooding verses and explosive choruses, and lyrics that frequently explore themes of pain, anger, and personal struggle. The band's 2003 self-titled debut, produced with Toronto producer Gavin Brown, launched them into mainstream rock radio with the breakout single «I Hate Everything About You», followed by hits such as «Animal I Have Become», «Never Too Late», «Pain», and «Riot». Their songs became a fixture of 2000s alternative rock radio, known for combining aggressive instrumentation with hook-driven, emotionally direct choruses. Following Gontier's departure in 2013, bassist Brad Walst's brother Matt Walst stepped in as lead vocalist, and the band has continued releasing music while maintaining the core melodic hard-rock identity established on their earliest records.
