The Rose (더 로즈)

The Rose (더 로즈) is a South Korean indie rock band formed of four members: Woosung on vocals and guitar, Dojoon on vocals and keyboards, Jaehyeong on bass, and Hajoon on drums. The group debuted in 2017 with the single «Sorry» and quickly built a reputation for writing and producing much of their own material, a rarity among Korean acts tied to major entertainment houses. Their sound blends alternative rock with pop and electronic textures, often built around emotional, melodic vocal lines and guitar-driven arrangements.

Over the years The Rose has released a string of well-received singles and EPs, including «Red», «She's In The Rain», and «California», gaining a devoted international fanbase known as Black Rose. After a period signed to a major label, the members eventually took creative control of their career by establishing their own independent label, Windfall, allowing them greater freedom over their music and image.

The band's name reflects the duality they aim for in their art: beauty paired with sharpness, softness paired with resilience. Songs like «Sorry», «Time», and «You're Beautiful» showcase their range, from tender ballads to more upbeat, guitar-forward tracks, and the group has toured extensively worldwide, cementing their status as one of the more distinctive rock acts to emerge from the modern K-pop and K-indie landscape.
