About the artist
The Kills are an indie/alternative rock duo formed in London in 2000 by American singer Alison Mosshart (going by «VV») and British guitarist Jamie Hince («Hotel»). Built around raw, minimalist blues-rock guitar lines, drum machines and Mosshart's snarling, husky vocals, their sound helped define the stripped-down, garage-influenced rock revival of the early 2000s alongside acts like The White Stripes.
The band released a string of acclaimed albums, including their 2003 debut «Keep On Your Mean Side», the darker «No Wow» (2005), «Midnight Boom» (2008), «Blood Pressures» (2011), «Ash & Ice» (2016) and «God Games» (2023). Songs such as «U.R.A. Fever», «Tape Song» and «Doing It to Death» showcase their trademark tension between sparse instrumentation and explosive energy.
Mosshart is also known for her work with The Dead Weather alongside Jack White, while Hince has been involved in various production and collaborative projects. Over two decades, The Kills have maintained a devoted following for their uncompromising, guitar-and-drum-machine aesthetic and magnetic live performances.
