About the artist
The Greeting Committee is an American indie pop/rock band formed in Kansas City, Missouri, fronted by singer-songwriter Addie Sartino alongside guitarist Brandon Yangmi, bassist Pierce Turcotte and drummer Austin Fraser. The band emerged from Kansas City's local music scene while its members were still in their late teens, quickly drawing attention for songs that paired conversational, diary-like lyrics with bright, hook-driven guitar pop.
After early singles and the 2017 EP «Meeting People Is Easy» released through Harvest Records, the group released its full-length debut «This Is It», a coming-of-age record built around themes of growing up, nostalgia, and the tension between independence and comfort. Sartino's voice, capable of both delicate restraint and forceful hooks, became the band's signature, anchoring tracks like «Hands Down», «Elise» and «Can I Leave Me Too».
Over time The Greeting Committee's sound has expanded from scrappy indie-pop into more polished, textured alt-rock and pop arrangements, while retaining the emotional directness that defined their early work. They remain closely associated with the wave of young, DIY-rooted indie bands that built audiences through streaming platforms and college radio in the late 2010s.
