The Frights

The Frights are a three-piece surf punk band from San Diego, California, formed in December 2012. The lineup consists of singer and guitarist Mikey Carnevale, bassist Richard Dotson and drummer Marc Finn. Their sound blends the raw energy of garage and surf rock with playful, sometimes dark lyricism, drawing on lo-fi punk traditions while injecting a scrappy, DIY humor into their live shows and recordings.

The band built its early following through relentless touring, opening for acts like Bad Religion, SWMRS and FrnkIero andthe Cellabration. They released a self-titled EP and the album «You Are Going to Hate This» through Postmark Records, home to songs such as «Tungs», «Crust Bucket» and «Kids» that showcase Carnevale's frantic vocal delivery and the trio's tight, energetic instrumentation.

Over time The Frights have grown from a scrappy local act into a respected name on the American surf punk and garage rock scene, known for their unpredictable live energy and a catalog that swings between raucous punk bursts and more melodic, introspective moments.
