About the artist
The Dillinger Escape Plan were an American band from Morris Plains, New Jersey, widely regarded as one of the most important and technically extreme acts in mathcore and metalcore. Formed in the mid-1990s, they built a reputation on chaotic time signatures, jarring tempo shifts, and a fusion of hardcore aggression with jazz-informed dissonance, alongside notoriously ferocious and dangerous live shows.
The band went through significant lineup changes over the years, most notably the departure of original vocalist Dimitri Minakakis and the arrival of Greg Puciato, who fronted the band through its most celebrated and internationally recognized period. Albums such as «Calculating Infinity», «Miss Machine» and «Ire Works» pushed mathcore's technical boundaries while incorporating unexpected electronic and melodic elements, influencing a generation of experimental heavy bands.
Their final studio album, «Dissociation», was released in 2016 and served as a fitting, ambitious closer to their career, after which the band announced an indefinite hiatus. Tracks like «One of Us Is the Killer», «Milk Lizard» and «Black Bubblegum» remain touchstones for fans of complex, high-energy heavy music, and the band's influence continues to be felt across mathcore, metalcore, and experimental rock.
