Stereophonics

Stereophonics are a Welsh rock band formed in 1992 in the small mining village of Cwmaman, in the Cynon Valley. The core lineup has long centered on singer and guitarist Kelly Jones, alongside bassist Richard Jones, with guitarist Adam Zindani and drummer Jamie Morrison joining in later years; original drummer Stuart Cable was part of the band through its breakthrough years before departing in the early 2000s.

The band's sound draws on classic British rock traditions, mixing gritty, whiskey-soaked vocals with anthemic choruses and blues-rock guitar work. Their debut album «Word Gets Around» (1997) introduced their storytelling style, rooted in observations of small-town Welsh life, and their commercial breakthrough came with «Performance and Cocktails» in 1999.

Over the following decades Stereophonics became one of the most consistent forces in UK rock, scoring multiple number-one albums and the chart-topping single «Dakota». Songs like «Maybe Tomorrow», «Have a Nice Day» and «C'est La Vie» became staples of British radio and festival stages, cementing the band's reputation as durable hitmakers within the alternative and traditional rock scene.
