Simple Plan

Simple Plan is a pop-punk band formed in Montreal, Quebec, in 1999. Emerging alongside a wave of early-2000s pop-punk and emo-pop acts, the band built its sound on melodic, hook-driven guitar songs paired with candid, often confessional lyrics about adolescence, heartbreak and self-doubt. Their debut album «No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls» and its breakout single «I’m Just a Kid» established them as one of the genre defining teen-oriented rock acts of the period.

Subsequent releases broadened their palette while keeping the emotionally direct songwriting at the core, with hits like «Welcome to My Life», «Untitled (How Could This Happen to Me?)», «Perfect», «Addicted» and «Jet Lag» becoming staples of pop-punk radio and playlists. The band has also shown a willingness to cross into pop and dance-leaning territory, notably with «Summer Paradise».

Over the years Simple Plan has collaborated with a range of high-profile artists across genres, reflecting the band members interest in pop and hip-hop as well as rock. Touring extensively across North America, Europe, Asia and beyond, the band has remained a fixture of the pop-punk scene well beyond its early-2000s origins, continuing to record and perform for a fanbase that has grown up alongside them.
