Set It Off

Set It Off is an American pop-punk band from Tampa, Florida, built around frontman and multi-instrumentalist Cody Carson. The band initially grew its audience through YouTube videos before signing to Equal Vision Records, and its sound blends pop-punk energy with theatrical, hook-driven songwriting and elements of electronic and pop production.

Their debut full-length, «Cinematics», arrived in 2012, followed by the sophomore album «Duality» in 2014, which leaned further into the band's more dramatic, emotionally direct songwriting style. Carson has described the band's music as an invitation for listeners to be unapologetically themselves, a theme that runs through much of their catalog. The band also partnered with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, donating proceeds from album sales to school music programs.

The lineup has changed over the years around Carson, with guitarist Zach DeWall and drummer Maxx Danziger among the band's more recent members; earlier members Dan Clermont and Austin Kerr departed the group. Set It Off remains known within the pop-punk and alternative scene for its high-energy live shows and its blend of emo-tinged melodrama with polished, radio-ready hooks, on songs like «Wolf in Sheep's Clothing» and «Why Worry».
