RADIO TAPOK

Radio Tapok is a Russian musical project founded by Oleg Abramov in 2016, focused on Russian-language covers and translations of well-known international rock, metal and pop songs. Alongside covers, the project became known for original compositions dedicated to military history, particularly episodes from Russian and Soviet history, delivered in an accessible rock format aimed at a broad audience rather than a narrow metal scene.

The project quickly built a large following thanks to Abramov’s energetic delivery and the accompanying music videos, which often feature elaborate historical staging, costumes and reenactments. Songs such as «Атака Мертвецов» and «Гвардия Петра» exemplify this approach, turning historical episodes into anthemic rock narratives, while «Soviet March» reworks a well-known instrumental theme with Russian lyrics.

Musically, Radio Tapok blends hard rock and metal instrumentation with clear, sing-along vocal lines, making the material approachable even to listeners outside the rock scene. Extensive touring, including performances across Russian cities, has been central to building the project’s live reputation alongside its online video output.
