Powerwolf

Powerwolf is a German power metal band formed in 2003 by twin brothers Charles and Matthew Greywolf. The group built its identity around a distinctive concept blending traditional power metal's bombastic, melodic songwriting with dark, gothic-tinged imagery drawn from Transylvanian werewolf and vampire folklore, as well as broader dark religious themes — a striking counterpoint to the more triumphant, fantasy-driven lyrics typical of the genre.

Musically, the band pairs soaring, anthemic choruses and church-organ-laden arrangements with heavy riffing and theatrical, corpse-paint stage presence, giving their live shows a ritualistic, almost liturgical atmosphere. Songs such as «Demons Are a Girl's Best Friend», «Army of the Night», «Incense & Iron», «Stossgebet», «Armata Strigoi» and «Amen & Attack» showcase this blend of horror-tinged storytelling and hook-driven, arena-ready songwriting that has made Powerwolf one of the most recognizable acts in modern power metal.
