Pierce the Veil

Pierce the Veil is an American post-hardcore band formed in San Diego, California, in 2006, built around brothers Vic Fuentes (vocals, guitar) and Mike Fuentes (drums), alongside Tony Perry (guitar) and Jaime Preciado (bass). The band emerged from the mid-2000s post-hardcore and pop-punk scene and quickly stood out for blending aggressive, technically intricate instrumentation with soaring, melodic vocal hooks.

A defining feature of their sound is the incorporation of Latin and Mexican musical elements, something Vic Fuentes has described as a deliberate part of the band's identity, blending heavy riffs with Spanish-language passages and flamenco-style guitar touches on tracks like «Besitos». Albums such as Selfish Machines (2010) and Collide with the Sky (2012), home to fan favorites like «King for a Day» and «Bulls in the Bronx», cemented their reputation as one of the genre's most emotionally intense and technically ambitious acts, while Misadventures (2016) continued that trajectory. The band returned after a lengthy hiatus with the single «Pass the Nirvana» in 2022, followed by their fifth album, The Jaws of Life (2023).

In 2017, Mike Fuentes departed the band following sexual misconduct allegations. Despite lineup changes, Pierce the Veil has remained a touring and recording fixture of the post-hardcore scene, known for an intense live show and a devoted global fanbase built over more than fifteen years.
