Pentakill

Pentakill is a virtual metal band created by Riot Games as part of the League of Legends universe, built around a roster of playable champions reimagined as musicians. Karthus serves as lead vocalist, Mordekaiser plays guitar, Yorick handles bass, Sona is on keyboard, and Olaf drums, with Kayle joining as a second vocalist from the band's second album onward.

Musically, Pentakill leans into heavy, symphonic metal with theatrical, fantasy-tinged production, drawing on the game's dark lore to fuel bombastic, riff-driven tracks. The project stands as Riot's earliest foray into music-as-entertainment, predating later ventures like K/DA, True Damage, and HEARTSTEEL, and each release ties its songs and album titles directly to in-game items and runes.

The band has released three full albums: Smite and Ignite in 2014, II: Grasp of the Undying in 2017, and III: Lost Chapter in 2021, each expanding the fictional lore and sound of the group while promoting themed in-game cosmetics for its member champions.
