NOTHING MORE

Nothing More is an American rock band from San Antonio, Texas, formed in 2003 by longtime friends Jonny Hawkins and Mark Vollelunga. After years of lineup instability and a self-released 2004 debut, «Shelter», the band spent much of the 2000s building a self-sufficient touring and recording operation, releasing music independently before signing to a major label. Their breakthrough came with the self-titled «Nothing More» (2014), which brought them to rock radio with singles like «This Is the Time (Ballast)» and «Jenny».

The band's sound fuses alternative and progressive metal with hard rock hooks, orchestral flourishes and unconventional, custom-built percussion — Hawkins is known for incorporating handmade instruments and elaborate stage rigs into live performances. Their lyrics frequently tackle mental health, self-doubt, faith and social commentary with unusual directness for the genre, which helped distinguish them within the modern rock landscape.

Subsequent albums, including «The Stories We Tell Ourselves» (2017) and «Spirits» (2020), continued to earn Grammy nominations and rock radio success, cementing Nothing More's reputation as one of the more musically ambitious and independently minded bands to emerge from the 2010s American rock scene. The band remains built around the core partnership of Hawkins and Vollelunga alongside a rotating cast of collaborators over the years.
