Nickelback

Nickelback is a Canadian rock band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta, built around lead vocalist and guitarist Chad Kroeger. Emerging from a cover-band background, the group became one of the most commercially successful rock acts of the 2000s, known for a polished, radio-friendly hard rock sound anchored by Kroeger's gravelly voice and big, hook-driven choruses.

Their breakthrough single «How You Remind Me» became a defining rock hit of the early 2000s, and the band followed it with a run of singles — «Someday», «Photograph», «Far Away» and the more brash «Rockstar» — that moved fluidly between anthemic power ballads and hard-driving arena rock. Their sound draws on grunge and post-grunge roots while leaning firmly into mainstream rock-radio production values. Nickelback's massive album sales and singles success made them one of the best-selling Canadian acts internationally, though their mainstream ubiquity also made them a frequent target of critical backlash.
