Muse are an English rock band from Teignmouth, Devon, formed in 1994 by Matthew Bellamy, Christopher Wolstenholme, and Dominic Howard while at school together. Known for combining virtuosic guitar and piano work with classical influences, orchestral flourishes, and increasingly electronic textures, the band has built one of rock's most theatrical and ambitious catalogs.
Early albums like Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry established their intense, falsetto-driven sound often compared to Radiohead, while Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations pushed them toward stadium-scale bombast with tracks like «Time Is Running Out», «Supermassive Black Hole», and «Starlight». Each album has carried a distinct conceptual, often apocalyptic theme, ranging from religion and mind control to entropy and simulated reality.
