About the artist
Mumford & Sons are an English folk rock band formed in West London in 2007, consisting of Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall, and Ted Dwane. Emerging alongside artists like Laura Marling and Johnny Flynn from London's nu-folk scene, the band built a signature sound around banjo, kick drum, and soaring, anthemic choruses paired with Mumford's raw, emotive vocals.
Their debut album, Sigh No More, and its follow-up, Babel, propelled them to global stardom, with songs like «Little Lion Man» and «I Will Wait» becoming defining hits of the early 2010s folk revival. Babel earned them major mainstream recognition and helped bring folk-influenced rock back into the pop consciousness.
The band later shifted direction with Wilder Mind, embracing a more electric, arena-rock sound, before returning to some of their folk roots on Delta. Across their catalog, Mumford & Sons have balanced introspective, often spiritually tinged songwriting with big, communal live performances, cementing their place as one of the defining bands of the 2010s folk-rock movement.
