Молчат Дома (Molchat Doma)

Molchat Doma (Молчат Дома) is a Belarusian band from Minsk formed in 2017, playing a moody blend of new wave, synth-pop, and post-punk indebted to Soviet-era Eastern Bloc aesthetics. The trio consists of vocalist Egor Shkutko, bassist and synth player Pavel Kozlov, and Roman Komogortsev on guitar, synthesizers, and drum machine, with Komogortsev also handling much of the group's production.

Singing in Russian, the band built an international following largely through the internet, where their stark, monochrome visual identity and gloomy, danceable sound resonated with a global post-punk and darkwave revival audience, especially on platforms like TikTok. Their music is characterized by deep, deadpan vocals, driving drum-machine rhythms, and cold synthesizer textures that evoke both classic post-punk acts and the brutalist architecture often associated with their aesthetic.

The albums С крыш наших домов and Этажи established their sound and brought them significant attention outside Belarus and Russia, leading to international touring. Songs such as «Судно», «Танцевать», and «Я Не Коммунист» remain among their most recognized tracks, and the band has become one of the most visible acts to emerge from the post-Soviet post-punk scene of the late 2010s.
