Mars Argo

Mars Argo was an American music and art project active from around 2010 to 2014, formed by Brittany Sheets, who performed under the stage name Mars Argo, together with Corey Mixter, known as Titanic Sinclair. The duo first gained attention through their YouTube channel grocerybagdottv, where they posted satirical sketches under the recurring format Computer Show, mocking media, consumerism, and politics. Music grew out of that channel partly as a way to sidestep copyright issues with background audio in their videos, and it soon became a core part of their output.

Their sound moved fluidly between alternative rock, dream pop, and alternative pop, often paired with a distinct DIY visual aesthetic of bright colors, glitch effects, and surreal imagery. Because the project was self-funded through an independent LLC rather than a record label, Mars Argo retained full creative control over songs like «Using You», «Runaway Runaway», and «Beauty is Empty».

The project ended in 2014 when Sheets and Mixter split, with Sinclair later stating that Sheets no longer wanted to continue making content. Much of the original YouTube catalog was subsequently deleted, and today Mars Argo is remembered largely through fan-preserved archives and its influence on later internet-born pop acts, including Mixter's subsequent project Poppy.
