Loathe

Loathe are a metal band from Liverpool, England, formed in 2014, known for dark, conceptually driven albums paired with equally atmospheric visuals. The lineup features vocalist Kadeem France, guitarist and second vocalist Erik Bickerstaffe, guitarist Connor Sweeney, drummer Sean Radcliffe, and bassist Feisal El-Khazragi. While often filed under metalcore, the band is defined by its refusal to stay within that box, blending crushing heaviness with ambient, shoegaze, and electronic textures.

The band's early work includes the EP «Prepare Consume Proceed» (2015, reissued in 2016 after signing to SharpTone Records) and their 2017 debut album «The Cold Sun». A split EP with labelmates Holding Absence, «This Is As One», followed before their breakthrough second album, «I Let It In and It Took Everything», released in February 2019 — a sprawling, 14-track record spanning multiple narrative threads rather than one continuous story.

Loathe's genre-blurring approach and immersive presentation earned them recognition within the UK heavy music scene, including nominations for Best UK Breakthrough at the Heavy Metal Awards and Best New Band at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods. Their sound continues to push at the edges of what metalcore and post-metal can encompass.
