About the artist
Lifehouse is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in the mid-1990s around singer-songwriter Jason Wade, whose warm, post-grunge vocals and melodic instincts became the group's defining sound. Originally called Blyss, the band signed to DreamWorks Records and released its debut album, No Name Face, in 2000, alongside bassist Sergio Andrade and drummer Jon Palmer.
The album's breakout single, «Hanging by a Moment», became one of the most played songs on American radio in the early 2000s and helped push No Name Face to multi-platinum sales, establishing Lifehouse as one of the era's leading purveyors of radio-friendly, guitar-driven alternative rock. Their sound balanced introspective, emotionally direct songwriting with big, anthemic choruses, distinguishing them from more aggressive nu-metal and pop-punk peers dominating the charts at the time.
Over the following decade the band released a string of successful albums, including hits such as «You and Me», «Whatever It Takes», and «Broken», maintaining a consistent presence on adult alternative and pop radio while retaining a devoted fan base built on Wade's earnest, hook-laden songwriting.
