Kurt Cobain

Kurt Cobain (1967–1994) was the singer, guitarist and primary songwriter of Nirvana, the Aberdeen, Washington band that became the defining force of the grunge movement and brought alternative rock into the mainstream in the early 1990s. His raw, distorted guitar sound, dynamic loud-quiet song structures, and hoarse, emotionally charged vocal delivery became a blueprint for a generation of rock musicians.

Cobain's songwriting fused pop melodicism with punk aggression and deeply personal, often cryptic lyrics touching on alienation, pain and disillusionment with fame. Nirvana's second album, «Nevermind», propelled the band to global stardom, while later material and unreleased demos continued to reveal his introspective and often dark lyrical voice.

His death in April 1994 at age 27 cut short one of rock's most influential careers, but his catalogue — including outtakes, demos and early recordings such as «And I Love Her», «Beans» and «Sappy» — remains widely studied and revered for its honesty and raw emotional power, cementing his legacy as one of the most important figures in rock history.
