KONGOS

KONGOS is a rock band formed by four brothers — Johnny, Jesse, Daniel and Dylan Kongos — sons of South African singer-songwriter John Kongos. Born in London and raised largely in Johannesburg, the brothers grew up steeped in music thanks to their father's career, eventually relocating to the United States to pursue their own sound, which blends alternative rock guitars with electronic textures and an unusual lead instrument for the genre: the accordion, played by Johnny.

The band built its reputation in South Africa first, where the album «Lunatic» topped multiple charts before crossing over internationally. Its breakout single «Come with Me Now» became a fixture on American rock radio and sports broadcasts, propelled by its stomping rhythm and singalong hook, while «I'm Only Joking» further established the band's knack for pairing danceable grooves with rock instrumentation.

Across subsequent releases, KONGOS has continued exploring the intersection of organic and electronic production, with songs like «Take It from Me» and «Autocorrect» showing a willingness to experiment with pop and electronic arrangements without abandoning their guitar-driven core. Their family dynamic — four siblings sharing vocal and instrumental duties — remains central to their identity and live performances.
