Kodaline

Kodaline are an Irish rock band formed in Dublin in 2005, consisting of vocalist Steve Garrigan, guitarist Mark Prendergast, bassist Jason Boland, and drummer Vinny May. After years performing under an earlier name, the band rebranded as Kodaline and broke through in 2012 with their EP and debut album In a Perfect World, propelled by the emotionally soaring single «All I Want».

Kodaline's sound is defined by widescreen, anthemic melodies, Garrigan's plaintive, high tenor vocals, and lyrics that move between heartbreak, hope, and quiet resilience. Tracks like «High Hopes» and «Love Like This» became staples of film and TV soundtracks, helping the band build an audience well beyond Ireland, while «Brother» and «The One» showcase their more introspective, piano-led side.

The band followed their debut with Coming Up For Air in 2015 and Politics of Living in 2018, broadening their sound with more electronic textures while retaining their core melodic, emotionally direct songwriting. Over the years Kodaline have become one of Ireland's most successful modern rock exports, known for turning simple, heartfelt melodies into arena-sized singalongs, with songs like «Moving On» and «Follow Your Fire» continuing to define their catalogue of hope-tinged, cinematic rock.
