About the artist
Kesha Rose Sebert, known simply as Kesha, is an American singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the late 2000s with a distinctive blend of electropop, dance, and party-anthem rap-singing. Her mother, Pebe Sebert, is a songwriter as well, and the two have collaborated on material together. Kesha signed with producer Dr. Luke's Kemosabe Records as a teenager, and her first notable recording credit was an uncredited vocal on Flo Rida's «Right Round».
Her 2010 debut album «Animal» launched her to stardom, propelled by the chart-topping single «TiK ToK», and was quickly followed by the companion EP «Cannibal», home to hits like «We R Who We R» and «Blow». These records established her signature sound: brash, hook-driven pop with electronic production and a party-girl persona. Her sophomore album «Warrior» continued in a similar vein while incorporating rock influences.
After a highly publicized legal dispute with Dr. Luke, Kesha re-emerged artistically with «Rainbow», an album that traded some of her earlier bravado for emotional vulnerability, featuring the widely praised single «Praying». She has continued to evolve across releases like «High Road» and «Gag Order», moving between euphoric pop anthems and more introspective, personal songwriting, cementing her place as one of pop's most resilient and adaptable voices.
