Kensington

Kensington is a Dutch indie rock band formed in Utrecht in 2005, built around the songwriting and vocals of Eloi Youssef alongside guitarist Casper Starreveld, bassist Jan Haker, and drummer Niles Vandenberg. Over the years the band evolved from a guitar-driven indie rock outfit into one of the Netherlands' biggest arena acts, known for anthemic choruses and increasingly polished, radio-ready production.

The band built its reputation through albums like «Vultures», which earned major recognition at Dutch music awards, and «Rivals», a commercial breakthrough that went multi-platinum. Their fourth album, «Control», released in 2016, cemented their status as a mainstream force, going gold within a day of release and eventually reaching platinum certification multiple times, while singles such as «Sorry» became some of their most recognized tracks.

Kensington continued to evolve its sound on «Time», released in 2019, incorporating more electronic textures alongside their rock foundation, as heard on tracks like «What Lies Ahead». The band has also earned international recognition, including repeated MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Dutch Act, and remains one of the most consistently touring and commercially successful rock bands to emerge from the Netherlands in the 2010s.
