Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Kenny Wayne Shepherd is an American blues rock guitarist and singer from Shreveport, Louisiana, who emerged in the mid-1990s as one of the most prominent young voices in modern blues. Discovered as a teenager, he signed to a major label while still in high school and quickly built a reputation for his fiery, Stevie Ray Vaughan-influenced guitar style paired with a deep respect for traditional blues songwriting.

His debut album, released in 1995, and its hit single «Blue on Black» became touchstones of the blues revival of that era, helping introduce the genre to a new generation of rock radio listeners. He followed with a string of successful records that blended blues, Southern rock, and mainstream rock sensibilities, keeping him a consistent presence on blues and rock charts for decades.

Beyond his solo career, Shepherd has been active as a bandleader and collaborator, touring extensively and working alongside blues legends and contemporary artists alike. He also co-founded the blues-rock supergroup The Rides alongside Stephen Stills. His playing is often cited as a bridge between classic blues guitar tradition and modern rock production, and he remains one of the genre's most recognizable contemporary ambassadors.
