Kasabian

Kasabian are a British rock band formed in Leicester, England in 1997. The classic lineup featured singer Tom Meighan, guitarist and songwriter Sergio Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards, and drummer Ian Matthews, with Pizzorno taking over as frontman and primary vocalist after Meighan's departure in 2020. They took their name from Linda Kasabian, a member of the Manson Family, and emerged in the mid-2000s alongside a wave of British guitar bands, quickly distinguishing themselves with a sound that fused indie rock swagger with electronic textures, dance rhythms, and psychedelic flourishes.

Their 2004 self-titled debut and its raucous, festival-ready singles established them as a major force in UK rock, and albums like «Empire» (2006) and «West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum» (2009) cemented their reputation for widescreen, anthemic songwriting. Tracks such as «Club Foot», «Fire», and «L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever)» became staples of British festival culture, and the band headlined Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage in 2014.

Known for their loud, theatrical live shows and Pizzorno's restless production experimentation, Kasabian have continued releasing albums into the 2020s, with singles like «Comeback Kid» and «You're in Love with a Psycho» showing their pivot toward the more electronic, hook-driven sound of their later work.
