Kanonenfieber is a solo project from Bamberg, Germany, created by a musician who performs anonymously under the alias Noise. The project emerged from black-metal-adjacent circles as a deliberate response to how war, and specifically the First World War, is typically portrayed in metal music — often through glorification, shock value, or cartoonish gore. Kanonenfieber instead aims for historical accuracy, drawing directly on documented events, soldiers' accounts, and the grim mechanics of trench warfare.

Musically, the project blends blackened death metal with martial, atmospheric elements — droning riffs, industrial textures, and samples evoking artillery and battlefield ambience — creating a sound that feels less like entertainment and more like documentation.
