Joywave

Joywave is an American indie rock band from Rochester, New York, built around vocalist Daniel Armbruster alongside longtime members including guitarist Joseph Morinelli. The band emerged in the early 2010s blending indie rock songwriting with electronic production, synth textures and a polished, hook-driven pop sensibility.

They gained wide attention through their collaboration with the electronic project Big Data on «Dangerous», which topped the Billboard Alternative Songs chart in 2014 and introduced Joywave to a much larger audience beyond their initial fanbase. Their own material, spanning releases like their debut album «How Do You Feel Now?» and subsequent records, has continued to mix guitar-driven rock with electronic flourishes, glossy production and often wry, socially observant lyrics.

Over the years Joywave has built a reputation as a restless, genre-blending band unafraid to move between rock, electronic, and pop textures from album to album, with tracks like «Tongues» and «Destruction» reflecting their continued evolution and their status as one of the more distinctive alternative rock exports from upstate New York.
