Jonathan Davis

Jonathan Davis is an American musician best known as the vocalist, lyricist and frontman of the pioneering nu-metal band Korn, which he joined in 1993 and helped shape into one of the genre's defining acts, known for its heavy, downtuned sound and Davis's raw, confessional lyrics dealing with trauma, alienation and personal pain. His distinctive vocal style, ranging from melodic singing to guttural screams and scatting, became a signature of the band's identity.

Beyond Korn, Davis has pursued a range of solo and side projects. He composed and produced music for films including Queen of the Damned and American Satan, toured with his band The SFA, and has worked as a DJ under the alter ego J-Devil since the late 1980s, reflecting a long-standing interest in electronic music. His first proper solo album, «Black Labyrinth», began development around 2007 but faced repeated delays before finally being released in 2018 through Sumerian Records, showcasing a more diverse sound spanning rock, electronic and world-music influences alongside songs like «What It Is», «Everyone» and «Slept So Long».

Davis has cited his childhood exposure to musical theater as an early creative spark, and across both his work with Korn and his solo output he has remained known for emotionally direct, often dark songwriting paired with genre-crossing musical ambition.
