Jet

Jet is an Australian rock band formed in Melbourne in 2001, built around brothers Nic Cester (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Chris Cester (drums), alongside guitarist Cameron Muncey and bassist Mark Wilson. Emerging at a moment when garage-rock revival acts like The Strokes and The White Stripes dominated the conversation, Jet carved out their own space with a rawer, more classic-rock-indebted sound that drew heavily on 1970s influences — think AC/DC riffing crossed with Beatles-esque melody.

Their breakthrough came with the debut album Get Born, powered by the swaggering anthem «Are You Gonna Be My Girl» and the wistful «Look What You’ve Done». The band’s mix of stomping riffs and unpretentious hooks made them festival and radio staples across the 2000s, with later hits like «Cold Hard Bitch» and «Hold On» cementing their reputation.

After several studio albums, Jet went on hiatus before reuniting in 2016, continuing to perform and record while remaining one of the more recognizable Australian rock exports of their era.
