Jarrod Alonge

Jarrod Alonge is an American comedian, songwriter and music producer from Orlando, Florida, who rose to prominence on YouTube for his «Misheard Lyrics» video series, later rebranded and continued under a new title. His work sits at the intersection of comedy and heavy/alternative music, parodying scene tropes through original songs rather than simple lip-sync gags.

Alonge built out an elaborate universe of fictional parody bands, each mocking a specific subgenre: Amidst the Graves Demons for metalcore, Sunrise Skater Kids for pop punk and easycore, Chewed Up for melodic hardcore, Vermicide Violence for deathcore, Canadian Softball for emo, and RECTÅNGLES for progressive metal, among others. These projects let him write and produce genuinely crafted songs while satirizing the clichés of each style.

He has collaborated with numerous artists and bands from the alternative and metalcore scenes, including blessthefall, Crown the Empire and Oceans Ate Alaska, as well as fellow YouTube musician Jared Dines, cementing his role as one of the internet's most recognizable voices in music-comedy crossover content.
