Invent Animate

Invent Animate is an American progressive metalcore band formed in Texas, with members later spread across Colorado and Sweden. The group emerged in the mid-2010s alongside a wave of atmospheric, emotionally driven metalcore acts, distinguishing itself through lush, melodic guitar work, dynamic shifts between heavy and clean passages, and lyrics that lean into introspection and loss.

After aligning with Tragic Hero Records, the band released its debut full-length, Everchanger, establishing their sound of soaring cleans layered over technical, dissonant instrumentation. A lineup shift preceded their follow-up, Stillworld, which pushed the band further into progressive territory. A major turning point came when founding vocalist Ben English departed and was replaced by Marcus Vik, formerly of Aviana, ushering in the Greyview era and a renewed creative direction.

Signing to UNFD marked another milestone, bringing wider international exposure through releases like The Sun Sleeps, As If It Never Was. Songs such as «Shade Astray», «Elysium», and «Immolation of Night» showcase the band's ability to balance crushing breakdowns with soaring, melodic hooks, cementing their place among the more emotionally resonant acts in modern progressive metalcore.
